This case is available
in both maple and Brazillian cherry but the actual
playing board is made with maple and walnut. The squares are
2 1/4 and
overall size of the case is 21 1/2" by 21 1/2" by
3 1/4" deep.
The top on this case
opens gullwing fashion by depressing the back edge on either
side with the fingers or thumps. When the case is open there
is a space to store and protect your valuable and treasured
chess pieces. Not shown in the catalog because it does not
show up well in a photograph, the storage space is lined with
a polyurethane foam in which you can make cutouts for your
chess pieces.
The chess pieces are not included with this case since there
are so many types and designs. Since this case is designed
for the serious and discerning chess players, we feel that
the chess pieces should be of there own preference and choosing.
