This is Blondie's first litter, and Zephyr's 4th. The puppies were whelped between April 17 at 6PM and April 18 at 3AM in a whelping pan in my bedroom. I personally supervised their first breaths. All puppies were born in good health - 100% survival rate. This litter has no runts.

The puppies have been Dewclawed and examined by the vet. at ??? Veterinary Hospital Uptown in ??? April 21, 2004. No birth defects were detected, and their claws healed with no complications.

May 3, 2004 was the day the puppies opened their eyes.

The puppies started interacting with each other on May 5, 2004.

The puppies were dewormed for the first time on May 6, 2004. They are scheduled for another deworming in two weeks and will receive their first vaccine a week later.

May 8, - The puppies started receiving formula supplement. They show little interest in it.

May 9, - The puppies start showing enthusiasm regarding Formula, and are eating some puppy dry food soaked and mashed with it.

May 11 - All the puppies have upper front teeth, some have canine teeth , some a full set of them! Soon mom won't be able to nurse.

May 13 - The puppies spent some time outdoors for the first time, They all have a full set of canine teeth and are using those to pull on each other's ears. Mommy Blondie, of course, finds nursing less and less agreeable, however this doesn't seem to be a problem since all the puppies have adjusted well to softened dog food("Iams" large breed puppy).

May 15 - The puppies have probably had the last full nursing 'meal.' By next week they should be able to eat dry dog food.

May 17 - The puppies have completed the transition to dry puppy food. They got used to spending their days in their outdoor enclosure. The actively seek each other's proximity (and ears, tail or whatever else can be chewed on), and when I enter their enclosure they fight over the right to climb into my lap and nibble at my fingers.

May 19 - The puppies have been weighed and dewormed. Their weights range from 5 LB to 6 LB 13 oz.
