I don't have a
shop / business , can I sell online?
AdExtend strongly recommends that the site owner research
local and any other applicable laws, and comply with all
legal, regulatory, licence and other requirements before
engaging in any activity online. AdExtend can only provide
website design based on the assumption that the site owner
is in compliance with all applicable laws.
For business, hobby, one-time-sell or any other personal
or commercial purpose, anyone can own and operate a website
to advertise and sell. AdExtend can create a such a website
for you, but will not offer legal or business advice.
It is the site owner's responsibility to comply with the
law and applicable regulations.

Do I have to register
my domain name?
You may, if you wish, register a domain name through adExtend
or any domain registrar. You would have to find a domain
name which is not taken yet, and pay registration fee.
If you already have a domain name registered to you, it
can be used for the website Adextend designs. Website
registration can take 48 hours or more to become effective.
You can not use a domain name that is not registered to
you! Registering a domain name could cost as little
as $10, or as much as hundreds of dollars.
A domain name typically looks like: www.YourDomain.com
A simplified alternative is to use AdExtend's domains.
AdExtend domain names do not need to be registered and
become effective and operational immediately. AdExtend
domain names are free of charge!

Does my site have
to be hosted with AdExtend?
No, your site can be hosted by any website hosting service
anywhere on the internet which allows uploading html,
graphic and other files. The ability to use scripts would
depends on the hosting server's capabilities. AdExtend
will only need access to your account to (user name and
password or any other information needed to upload the
files and inquire the server's tech support about server
capabilities and specifications)
Website hosting services usually require prepaid annual
contracts.
Hosting with AdExtend is free for the first week,
and can be purchased on a weekly or monthly basis, or
by subscription, depending on your specific needs.

Do I have to have
digital photos for posting on the web?
Yes, only digital photos can be posted on the web. AdExtend
can create those for you from hard copy photos. This service

How can I tell how many people visit
my website?
You can have a hit (visit) or visitor
counter installed on your website. It can be either
visible or invisible. You can also purchase one-time or
periodic
traffic reports with a daily breakdown of visitors
number or the number of pages loaded (visited).

How should I arrange / configure my
website?
Depending on the amount of material you would like to
post, divide it , as much as possible, to clear cut categories
and functions - each one on a separate page.
Your home page is usually an expanded business card with
little text inviting visitors to click on links to other
categories
Sales catalogues should be separate from history or testimonials.
You should consider a disclaimer page, Contact Us page,
survey and questioner pages, Site Map (for larger sites),
Thank you page for post payment, etc.

I used
to have a website, Can I get it back online?
AdExtend maintains copies of websites designed by Adextend
for up to 2 years. Reloading
your AdExtend site will be possible from our records or
from your copy of the website
on CD, previously purchased from adextend.
Websites not previously designed by AdExtend will have
to be sent to us on CD for reloading. If you do not have
a copy of your website on a CD or your previous website
designer refuses to forward the copy to AdExtend, your
site will have to be designed again.

E-mail address?
If you have purchased a package from AdExtend, your primary
AdExtend E-mail address contains your URL before the "@"
sign, and AdExtend.com after the "@" sign:

Additional E-mail addresses are assigned upon purchase
or in accordance with your package specifications.
Upon Order reception AdExtend assigns E-mail addresses
as needed and informs the site owner of the user name(s)

How do I use my
AdExtend E-mail account?
You can access your AdExtend E-mail account in two ways:
On the web (using your browser)
Go to:

Enter your complete email address (example: blondie@adextend.com)
in the User ID Field
Enter AdExtend in the password field – This is a
temporary password and should be changed to a personalized
one upon your first login.
Using your E-mail application
Log into your e-mail account on the web and change your
password if you haven't done that already.
Go to the ‘accounts’ section of your E-mail
application
Set a new POP account
Name your new account
Enter your complete e-mail address (example: blondie@adextend.com)
in the User ID field
Enter your new password in the password field
Enter mail.adextend.com in the POP Server field and the
SMTP Server field.
Some internet providers require that you enter the internet
provider's information in the SMTP server. If you are
having difficulties setting the outgoing mail server or
sending E-mail using your AdExtend E-mail account please
contact your internet provider for assistance.
Enjoy unlimited use of this e-mail account for the duration
of your website hosting.

Can I make changes
to my website?
If your website is hosted on a third party server you
may access your host's ftp server and make changes to
your website. If your website is hosted by AdExtend you
can not access the site and make changes. You may request
AdExtend to make changes to your website.
A hosting subscription with AdExtend entitles you for
a free website update and minor changes every 6 months.

There is a mistake
on my website, Can it be corrected?
During the first 24 hours (or one business day) after
your site is posted you should review your site and inform
AdExtend of any mistakes you find. Those will be corrected
within 24 hours (or one business day).

I'm getting no
hits (visitors) on my website, why?
Most commonly the reason for 'no hits' is that the URL
is misspelled in your paper ad or any other place you
chose to advertise your website. Please note that the
last portion of your URL is CASE
SENSITIVE !!!
i.e., AdExtend.com/MyURL is not the same as AdExtend.com/myurl
Please verify the correct spelling and case of your URL
and how it has been advertised.

Write your URL in your newspaper ad, on your newsletter,
business card, flier, sign or poster and any other promotional

I want to know
who is visiting my website, can I?
AdExtend, the counter which AdExtend installs (by site
owners' request ) and the reports the counter service
generates (and which AdExtend forwards to Site owners
by owners' request) can not collect, save or display specific
information regarding site visitors. The counter may be
displayed with visitor or hit count, and the reports will
only contain the number of page loads, unique, first time
and returning visitors.
The use of different counters and report methods may be
approved by AdExtend at our discretion.
Sites hosted by AdExtend can not be used for collection
of personal information of site visitors.

access to my website?
Your site may contain a section which requires visitors
to log in with a password in order to access. Set up and
visitors accounts / password maintenance will have to
be done by AdExtend if the site is hosted by AdExtend.

Where is my website
located?
Your website is composed of HTML and all the other files
linked to them. Your files are stored on a computer (server)
which is permanently connected to the internet.
Your website can be stored and made accessible on the
server used by Adextend, or on a hosting server of your
choice.
In order for AdExtend to post, maintain or make any changes
to your website, AdExtend would need to either host your
site on the Adextend server or have full access to your
hosting account with the third party server.

The files composing your website have to be stored on
an internet server and accessible online 24/7.
The fee for having your website stored and available on
the internet through a hosting server is called "hosting
fee." You may sign a short or long term hosting agreement

In order for AdExtend to post, maintain or make any changes
to your website, AdExtend would need to either host your
site on the Adextend server or have full access to your
hosting account with the third party server.

Hosting with Adextend is an affordable and flexible solution

You can purchase hosting time on a weekly, monthly or
annual basis, or start a hosting subscription which can

Hosting with a third party service usually require a minimum
one year contract.
Different hosting services offer different accessibility
levels for website developers. Some may even limit or
eliminate completely server side scripting to support
site operation. Some of the information AdExtend would
need to have in order to design or maintain a website
on a third party server is: Host name or domain name,
FTP access information, Account access information, Server

What's "search
engine submission"?
In order for search engine to include your site in their
search results, your site first needs to be listed in
the search engine indexes. The search engine therefore
needs to be aware of your site's location, content, keywords,
name etc.
Search engines typically "crawl" the web (jump

accumulate the information about each site they pass through.
Some search engines allows website owners to 'invite'

What's "optimizing
images"?
The digital representation of pictures - or graphic files
(JPG, GIFF, TIFF files etc.) define the picture's size,
resolution and colors in addition to containing the image
itself. While screen resolution is relatively low (typically
72 dots per inch or dpi) digital pictures can be in much
higher resolution, up to thousands of dpi! And while there
are only 256 we- safe colors (those that should display
similarly on all platforms and screens through the internet)
there can be millions of different colors in a digital
image.
Higher resolution and larger number of colors increase
the graphic file size dramatically (for example - from
70KB to 100MB) and may cause the image to look worse on
some computers or screen, slowing down the loading web
page. It is therefore necessary to adjust image size,
resolution and color palate to web standards.
